The illustrations were amazing! I was a little lost on the plot at first (this is my first dive into the series) but I quickly caught on. A lot of action, a lot of good fighting scenes & gorish violence. 👌🏽 Looking forward to reading into this one more.

I don't know anything about the other mad max comics so for me coming into this with this volume it was really rather frustrating that so much of it was spent on back story. Basically recapping the story from Mel Gibsons movies to they newest one. Since so much of it was spent explain the basics of who and what max is I had a hard time being attached here. You have what less than 50 pages to get your reader involved in this comic and buying the next volume. There was nothing to hook my interest till the last five pages or so, and I almost just slipped the comic back in the sleeve and just put it away. Not really the best way to hook someone. So now I'm interested in the comic but not enough to go out of my way to buy the second one. I'm only faintly curious on where this story will go. I enjoyed the artwork at least.

Son 3 precuelas: un recuento rápido de oda la saga de Mad Max y las historias de origen de Nux y de Immortan Joe. La mejor es la de Immortan, pero me hubieran gustado más páginas y alguna mención a Furiosa.

This begins with a nice recap of Max's story so far, and offers an explanation of why the Interceptor is seen at the beginning of the movie. However, the coming back of Thunderdome just for the sake of... Lack of originality, I think? And a wound so harsh and so easily managed and recovered, were the absolute letdown of this first entry.

The best of this series yet. The Nux/Immortan comic was just a bit brief, each guy probably deserved their own comic. The Furiosa one was just, well, disappointing. Any good will that the movie had for empowering the female characters dissipated with a comic pretty much entirely about the wives being raped while Furiosa sat back and watched.

This one, though? It answered a LOT of the questions that everyone had about the timeline. Was Hardy's Max the original Max? Did the first three movies matter? The answer is "yes," which is tremendous. Looking forward to the second installment.
