If you find yourself worrying about how it's all going to end, then this is perfect book for you. Katie Mack explains with humor and not in a forbidding amount of detail all the likely ways that the universe and everything in it is likely to end. She also describes how they figured all this stuff out and what we know and what we don't know and how all that figures in to the final question of where/when/how the universe ends. Good read

If you have a basic knowledge of advanced physics vocabulary like protons, neutrinos, and quarks, this is a very accessible (and punny) look at the current theories of the cosmos and prevailing theories of how it could all end. Mack's writing is clever and explanations are easy to follow which make this a worthwhile book to pick-up if the end of the universe and what we currently know (and don't know) sound interesting. Spoiler: Mack makes it interesting.
She writes really well! It was a 5 stars book till chapter 6 but the last two chapters got too abstract for me. Still the best book on cosmology in a long time.

Mack does an excellent job of summarizing the main theories of cosmology for the end of the universe in a way that is accessible and engaging. Her style is conversational and humorous and, despite the seeming bleakness of the subject matter, she manages to end on an optimistic note.
sorry to say this, but i feel like im not smart enough to fully understand what Katie Mack is discussing. so many paragraphs have completely flown over my head, and i’m just not enjoying this book.
