My second book down the astrophysics/cosmology rabbit hole!
An entry-ish intro to astrophysics. If you’re at all interested in the subject, I highly recommend! Super fascinating look at different cosmological possibilities by a down-to-earth (

Yes, thinking about the end of the universe is a fun thing to do and Katie Mack's The End of Everything is an informative and occasionally snarky look at how it may all come to an end. I enjoyed it very much.

Trying to read more nonfiction. I didn’t understand most of what I read here, because dumbed down astrophysics is still...astrophysics, but I enjoyed the writing style and felt buoyed by the almost hopeful message at the end. Like, sure, the universe may be doomed and there’s nothing we can do about that, but we can make an impact on here and now. As the man once said, “if nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do.”
the introduction of this book, read by the author, scared me so bad my arm hair stood on end. but i ended up getting lulled into all the complications and explanations of quantum physics and the unfathomable scale of the universe....the universe can end at literally any moment and that is some fucked up shit i'll think about forever. but at least we can explain how?
I found this a really interesting take and a reminder of the physics I studied(what feels like an age ago)
It really got a lot of amazing information and made me question so much about meaning of life etc. It was strange to think of the long unknowing being more scary than the sudden loss!
It was superbly put together and really insightful

Is it weird to say that I truly enjoyed reading about how the world and universe as we know them might end? Because I did. Science is neat.

As hard as astrophyics is, Mack did the best to convey how it would affect the world in the future, and even though it is more of a learning science deal, the thoughts I cannot help but have about life on Earth had just been insightful and grant me another way of thinking of things. And feeling astrophysics isn't as far as I thought it would be is a wonderful thing.
