These characters had some depth to them despite the fast paced storytelling.  I thought it was a nice and easy read but with more substance than a lot of books in this genre.  I also liked that it was sort of a romance but not really.  And told the tale of two people needing to grow up separately but still finding each other.

Amazing book. Does a good job switching from present day to past and between characters perspective.

Ugh. I’ve loved all of Beth O’Leary’s books, but this one just didn’t work. I actually liked the first maybe 40% quite a bit as we get the zany start to the roadtrip and the flashbacks to the beginning of Addie and Dylan’s relationship. Then it just gets dark.

Marcus is the actual worst. At every point in this story he sucks and even at the end, it’s hard to see any remorse. Dylan sucks for being led by Marcus for so many years.
Thankfully Addie has Deb for a sister, since she’s the best.

Like I said this gets dark, so be warned for alcoholism, depression, attempted SA, and drug use.
