A remarkable story that shows how far you can go when you give yourself permission to see a different life.  The author had many obstacles to overcome and she was brave enough to take on each task. Congrats! I wish her all the best as she continues to redefine what is beautiful and what is a good Muslim woman.

I did not know anything about Leah Vernon prior to reading this book and purchased it from a discount book bin at a conference. I enjoyed this memior and found myself getting into the story. Memoir is a hard genre for me, still, but glad I gave this one a try.

A little classy and a little brassy - Leah Vernon holds nothing back.

Intersectionality is a huge topic covered in this book, it felt really good to read Leah Vernon’s story- through all the challenges she faced she overcame, and came into her own. It’s relatable, very down to earth and personal. ❤️
