I found the story in this volume the most interesting off all so far. I still don't care much for the artistic styling of these comics, however, so these won't get 5 stars from me.

Un volume di Sandman dalle fortissime vibes da American Gods.

Plot or Character Driven: Character

I think this is the best one yet.

It began as a tale of redemption, trying to right past wrongs, and then the small act branched out in many directions I could not have guessed

creativity at its finest

I hated almost all of it, I'm done with the series.

Dang, who would have thought that this would make me cry.

One of my favorite Sandman volumes. A+ all the way.

This series has been somewhere on my TBR for a long time and this year I decided I needed to dive in and finally get to it. So far it has been a remarkable experience and I can't see myself stopping any time soon.

What I liked.
I have felt like the series has stopped and started a couple of times now but in this volume there was definitely more of a sense of tying it all together. The call backs and the set up for a larger universe were done wonderfully and in a big way. Is this the place where The Sandman series actually gets going? I thought it happened already but then this installment took it to the next level.

The story line deserves to be talked about a lot more than I am about to talk about it. Simply put, it was amazing. Lucifer's decisions at the beginning to the involvement of other gods and the ending all took me by surprise in different ways. Just when I think I have a grasp on where the series might be going it takes me to places I didn't know I wanted it to go to.

What I did not like.
Season of Mists was paced a little bit slower than the other volumes in my opinion. I think they did something a bit different with this one and it needed that but at the same time I didn't blow through it or stay up late reading because of it. Still amazing though!

Overall, I think this volume is an earlier candidate for a stand out in the series. Obviously, me just writing that is folly, there are six more to go and then some! But I did greatly enjoy it and I am looking forward to seeing what they did with the next installments.

My favorite of the series so far!
I absolutely loved Season of the Mists, the 4th volume in The Sandman series.

Morpheus, aka Sandman has been given a choice to right a wrong from something he did years ago.
But in order to fix this mistake, he must go into hell.

When Morpheus goes to hell to face his demons (no pun intended!), he is given a task that he was not expecting nor wanted.
This task opens up the door for plenty of relationship building (ha!), new characters in the series and great fun while reading along.

I've really loved this series so far. I'm so glad I finally got around to starting it!
