If nonfiction gave me an understanding of the world, Matt Haig's fiction is what led me to explore my inner self and how that translated to the outside.

"To experience beauty on Earth, you needed to experience pain and to know mortality. That is why so much that is beautiful on this planet has to do with time passing and the Earth turning. Which might also explain why to look at such natural beauty was to also feel sadness and a craving for a life unlived."

I think I just dont like Matt Haig's writing that much, once again there was nothing wrong with the book, it was fine to read but I didn't feel myself drawn to it, I enjoyed the premise but not the actual writing style or main character. Overall it was a good book, just not for me.

I really enjoyed this book, it is easy to read, funny, unusual and heartwarming. I now feel tempted to read Walt Whitman and Emily Dickinson.

I enjoyed this. It's an interesting view of humanity, and at times the alien's view of life on Earth is pretty funny. The best part of the book is the advice to humans near the end, but you have to read the rest of the book for some of those things to make any sense.
