What a read!! I was suggested this by a middle schooler, and I'm impressed he digested it! What a real, heavy story. Twists and turns all over, it really kept me captivated. I can really tell that scientists were consulted, it is clear that considerable work was put into this book and what would happen in this circumstance. The ending, absolutely amazing. When I say I didn't see it coming, that is and understatement. The story kept me hooked the entire time.

I am usually not a fan of multiple narrators. It is one of the few things in lit that I really hate reading. But this book seemed to do that well! It played with perspective, and put together pieces of the story in a new and original way.

3.5 stars

This book is like if Lord of the Flies married a nonfiction book about climate change—an intensely, increasingly distressing plot, interwoven with very real concerns raised by water shortages/droughts and the recent wildfires in California.

Excellent excellent! Highly recommend for teens and adults alike.
