Enjoyed the pacing of the book and the gothic horror vibes. Can't believe this is the first time reading Edgar Allan Poe!

One of my favourites so far. A really well-crafted short story, and the ambience gave me off vibes of The Stranger or the ending of The Red and the Black which I quite enjoy. Poe’s stories are definitely well-written in the sense that it really takes you to the place of the story and makes you feel that tension the character is facing. Anyways I love this scary style so it’s a yes for me regarding the plot and genre. I need to dig deeper concerning symbols etc. though
