This book needs more attention than I had for it. The narrative uses very long, meandering sentences (which capture the inner life of the POV character very effectively) and doesn’t mark off dialog at all. That makes it easy for me to start skimming, which I struggled against while reading this. Also what a time to be reading a story like this, yikes.
