I can definitely see the height behind Farrah and Blake. I knew how this book was going to end and I still cried about it, but that’s not surprising for anyone who’s ever talk to me or read any of my reviews… I loved how you see them appreciating the culture of the program and it was fun to learn about Shanghai through the characters. The relationship was so so cute and I will be reading the next one because I want them to have their HEA.

why did she make him 'cheat' that section of the book was so crazy why did he not tell her until 3 months later and why did she not kill him where he stood. plus i think its crazy that the book was set in shanghai but the only on screen interaction they had with a native chinese person was when the main characters were getting pedicures ? how are u gonna make me think this is something a white person would write when the author isnt even white.

but i will say this book made me a little sad because even though it was poorly written and had some truly heinous dialogue, as someone who has read the twisted and kings of sin series it made me realize that ana huang is capable of writing things that are imbued with actual emotion and heart and that her books can be more than a haphazard mix of tropes, alpha males and really bad dirty talk written to meet a publishing deadline

With the popularity of Ana Huang's Twisted and Kings series, I decided to hop on the Ana Huang bandwagon and of course being the type of person I am, I brought all of her series in its entirety and then what happened is that they ended up on my bookshelf, till the spark occurs to read them. I needed something that felt like a quick romance read as the other ones I had tried were just blah and boring. Ana Huang's If Love series is not too big so I grabbed the first one and started reading. The first chapter was a break-up scene so we already get the idea that this book will not end in HEA and it's a book that we all can relate to as most of us have had that one love that we have fallen hard in, only to be left hurt and the one standing on the sidelines while the other person walks away. The love that should be forever, but for some reason, it can never happen that way. Farrah and Blake, both met in China on a student exchange and weren't looking for romance or love but sparks flew and soon they were head over heels for one another and it was hot, intense, and strong. That was until Blake ruined it by getting drunk with his ex-girlfriend the year comes to an end and Blake breaks Farrah's heart and the pair go their opposite direction till the next time years later, they will meet which is Book #2's story. If We Ever Meet Again by Ana Huang, is the read for every female or male if you love romances who has gone through that first strong break-up of real love, not puppy love.
