Well, the title is pretty much self explanatory!

I wouldn't even try to detail all the things I liked and didn't exactly care for about Disastrous. I'm glad I read it and know I'll read the next book, [b:Cautious|16131601|Cautious (Disastrous, #2)|E.L. Montes|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1364831632s/16131601.jpg|21957233], when it's released in May 2013(?) The thing about extremely passionate relationships, like Mia and Marcus's, is that even characters who are supposed to be highly intelligent often come across as total dolts - the heat quotient goes up and the IQ points take a dive. GAH! I can accept instant attraction and even strong feelings, but the total abandon of sense and almost instantaneous professions of love are stretching it. That I'll-love-you-forever thing when you don't really know anything about them leaves out the whole getting-to-know-them phase. Mia knows Marcus has things he's hiding from her. Other shadowy not-so-good things become apparent and they scare her but she still says she'll marry him!? Eegads! What good is that 4.0 GPA doing Mia!? We are talking THE MOB here. Are you telling me she would agree to marry him when she knows he's involved in gun and drug running!? That's some blinding love. There were a couple of passages I highlighted for their relevancy:

"He did well in Ethics? I snorted. Maybe in the classroom and the legal world he aced it, but when involving his relationship and personal life, his ethics sucked big time!" ~ Mia Sullivan

"Our relationship didn't make sense! We both had our issues, and two wrongs surely did not make a right." ~ Mia Sullivan

The prologue of this book sucks you in right from the very first page!!! It's the story of Mia Sullivan, a Harvard law student, who has suffered alot of trauma and loss in her life, and Marcus DeLuca, a rich, sexy hot-shot lawyer in Boston. These two meet up by chance just before she was set to interview for an internship at his law firm. And boy do the sparks fly right from the start. But Marcus isn't your typical damaged guy, he's hiding quite a dark side. Loved watching all of this unfold. Lots of drama, angst and steam. Loved Mia and Marcus!!!! So glad book #2 just came out!!!

This book starts off with Mia being a Harvard Law student trying to get an intern position at one of the top law firms in Boston. Mia has been through a lot in life, lots of loss and heartache, and she only has one friend her room mate Jeremy. One night things change for Mia though, she meets her new boss Marcus DeLuca and he does everything he can to get her to start a relationship with him.
Things aren't always as they seem though, and Mia has a hard time trusting people because of all the things in her past. Mia and Marcus have an explosive relationship, very passionate and sometimes not so good. Things get hard when she learns Marcus has lots of secrets that he doesn't plan on sharing with her.

So I don't have a lot of feeling for this book. I don't really like it, but I also don't really dislike it either. It was just okay. I couldn't form a connection to the characters. I thought Marcus was kind of "wimpy" he didn't seem to be very Alpha male like, and I didn't like that. He also seemed to let Mia run over him a lot.
And I didn't care for Mia at all. I thought she was stupid, and a screaming "jerk." There was one point in the book where she looked up things about Marcus before she started dating him, and even asked him about it. But then when he started to disappear and say he couldn't tell her things, she couldn't even come up with an educated guess as to why. And she was also surprised when he finally told her some of it. I thought this was extremely stupid on her part. I mean it was somewhat obvious, so I do not understand why she acted the way she did. I really didn't feel a whole lot of sympathy for her, and I felt like she often judged Marcus to harshly for someone she claimed to love.

I was only slightly curious about the next book, so I'm not sure I will be reading it because I really didn't like the characters very much. But if your into this type of drama/romance then this is the book for you.

Lord have mercy, I feel like I read a mix between Mob Wives, General Hospital and A Bronx Tale.

BUT I LOVED IT.

Honestly, I've read better smut scenes, more stimulating, more sensual smut scenes. And there were other things that bothered me about this book. I just forgot. I guess that's what this book is. It's not that memorable. I just didn't feel this book, you know? I just didn't connect with it very well.

I agree with this review. It was very similar to Fifty Shades of Grey. It basically has the same plot, same characters. The way Disastrous was written was better than the way Fifty Shades of Grey was written, though, grammatical errors aside.
