Adored this book! Loved watching the separate timelines/stories connect and how well they come together. A wonderful historical fiction with despair, action, and a bit of romance twisted together. I couldn’t put it down!

It's a story worth telling, and the Eve chapters were great, but the Charlie chapters really dragged it all down and were often a slog to get through. I think the story could have been told better without most of that.

At the middle and the very end i would give it a 5 but I think the author could probably knock about 100 pages off and the book would be better. But this is my first successful read from the little library box in my neighborhood.
