Being completely honest, I went into this with a pretty negative outlook - I was being forced to read it for school, and it didn't seem like it would be as interesting as other plays I had read, having only looked at comedies like Much Ado and As You Like It, or tragedies like Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet. I must say though, this was a good introduction to Shakespeare's historical plays.
The commentary on the political side provided by the tavern scenes was super interesting to look at - particularly the play within a play following Falstaffs exposure as an exaggerator and liar.
I'll definitely be rereading this, not just this year because I have to study it, but in the future too after I finish my end of year exams :)

I'm a firm believer that Shakespeare is better seen than read. I've seen plenty of Shakespeare plays, but admit that this is one of three works of his that I've read.

I truly did not care about a single plot line or character in this play. Lots of build up to a battle and not much else.
