My favorite book of the year so far (June). Highly recommend the audio for the accents (Glasgow) and emotions. Laughed out loud and cried -- in public, naturally. This is a beautiful book. Sad, and hopeful.

If you want to absolutely bawl your eyes out for the last 20 minutes of the story, then this book is for you.

Lenni, 17 years old, and Margot, 83 years old are both terminally ill patients who meet at an art class in the hospital. Lenni decides they will paint 100 pictures to represent the 100 years they’ve lived collectively. Each picture has a story that tells the life of each character and how they got to where they are. Obviously there are more Margot life stories than there are Lenni’s, but Lenni plays a huge part in the story overall. It’s really a lovely book about friendship and love and letting go.

This was a heartwarming cleverly written story of two people with many years between them.  They found  bond between them and for joy and love at the end of their lives. I really enjoyed the book and will be thinking about it for quite awhile..

Solid 3.5. Cute story. I’ve just read so many good ones lately, this one can’t compare.
