I thought I really liked this book until I reached the end and I realised I loved this book. Like, really loved it. Everything about the narrative structure came together and made sense and just kinda blew me away. Honestly, I have yet to be remotely disappointed by anything that Becky Chambers writes.

So this seems plausible. It's not exactly fun but it kept me engaged so that's more than some of the other books I've recently done.

To Be Taught, If Fortunate was a treasure to read.
I typically do not like sci-fi books, but I heard Plant Based Bride talk about this novella, so I thought I'd give it a try.
I was immediately captivated, drawn into Becky Chamber's artful storytelling, sweet characters, and creative world. Becky Chambers did a stunning job creating other planets and lifeforms without making the novella feel overly stuffed with exposition and explanation. The plot, character-building, and world-building all felt seamless.
I'd highly recommend this treasure of a novella to anyone!

Beautiful language, beautiful descriptions and thought provoking. Several times I got that pleasant tingling feeling in my chest because of how immersed I got. The way the characters interact with the worlds and each other felt so calming and... nice. And when the crew goes through hardships, I felt that too.
I loved how the different planets served as different stages in the storytelling and their journey. My only problem with the book was how short it was. I wanted to melt into it for as long as I could.
