So many types of amazing love shown throughout this book. I laughed hard, I cried even harder, and I never wanted to put the book down.

Elderly gay men getting to love openly and show young gay women a fun time in a southern MS church basement at a drag show changed my brain chemistry for the better.

Loved the story, loved the characters, but I wanted to stop reading at every celebrity name drop, it was a LOT. Truly was a beautiful story and I wish I could rate it higher I simply can't when nobody talks like that.

I don't even know where to start. The romance aspect of the novel was really sweet and I liked the description of setting. I thought it was cool that there were really places that they went to. the characters had a lot of growth throughout the book and there were some good emotional scenes. that being said the writing was very awkward at times and I found some of the dialog odd. I didn't like how instead of saying 'oh my god' or 'holy shit' the characters would just say the name of a famous queer person. I was so sick of hearing 'Kristen fucking Stewart' and 'Queen fucking Latifah.' Also there were phrases like 'her mouth puckered into a cat's butthole' and 'I think this brisket is gonna make me have a orgasm.' I really couldn't take it seriously, but I tried to look past it. Also I think some of the characters were too stereotypical.
At one point they were all in drag in Remi's kitchen and dancing to ABBA before they went to a gay bar
. There was just a lot of ABBA and Van Morris and I was a little annoyed at the lack of variety idk.
