Here We Go Again by Alison Cochrun was a rollercoaster of emotions. This book had me laughing out loud, smiling through most of it, and then absolutely ripping my heart out—only to put it back together in the most beautiful, tear-jerking way. The central love story between Hale and Logan, childhood friends turned enemies turned lovers, was wonderfully messy, emotional, and real. But, above all, it was the relationship between Joe and Remy that truly stole the show. Their chemistry and development made the entire book feel alive, and their journey is, without a doubt, the heart of this story.
That being said, there were a few things that did take me out of the experience. First, the constant celebrity name-dropping throughout the book felt overdone and unnecessary. It distracted from the story and honestly felt like it was trying a bit too hard to add flair. Logan’s repeated use of the term "fuckboy" to describe herself also got old fast, making her come across as more immature than empowered, which became frustrating as the book went on. And, for the love of all things good, the description of Rosemary’s lips as being like a “cat’s butthole” was a line I just could not get behind. It was such an odd and unnecessary metaphor that it took me out of the moment and left me cringing.
Logan’s overall immaturity was another sticking point for me. She seemed to spend much of the book acting like an emotionally immature teenager, and while I understand her character growth is part of the journey, it became frustrating to see her act in ways that seemed out of place for someone in her position.
But despite these issues, the ending completely made up for it. I was devastated, emotionally wrecked, and yet somehow put back together in a way that only a really well-written romance can do. The resolution, especially for Joe and Remy, was beautiful and made me cry happy tears. It’s a testament to how well Cochrun can deliver emotional depth, and it’s the perfect payoff for a story that’s both hilarious and heartbreaking.
In the end, while there were some parts that didn’t quite work for me, the relationship dynamics and the emotional impact of the story made Here We Go Again a book I’m glad I read. If you’re a fan of childhood friends to lovers stories, emotional rollercoasters, and a romance that leaves you in happy tears, then this one is definitely worth picking up.

this was okay, it had its cute, funny and emotional moments but I didn't connect with the characters at all. they had very clichéd, simplistic backstories that made them feel two-dimensional. the writing was good, but sometimes cringy. overall it was fine and entertaining, just missing some depth character-wise for me.
