well. comparing your love interest's lips to a cat's asshole (on multiple occasions) is certainly... a choice.

I did not connect to this book at all. I absolutely hate circular storytelling so I could not stand the fact that this book was essentially Rosemary and Logan having the same argument over and over again. And instead of resolving an argument, we just skip to a new scene halfway through the argument so that it can come up again later. And just because a story is sad, does not mean it is good. Of course you're going to have emotions when all kinds of trauma and mental illness get mentioned. You have a dead dad, an absent mother, a dying father figure, cancer, alcoholism, ADHD, anxiety, being queer in a small town, homophobia, living through the AIDS crisis, and probably something I'm forgetting. Of course these things will get to you if you have any empathy whatsoever, but I don't think any of them were done particularly well. All of that and the book still felt cheesy and full of unnecessary pop culture references. I mean seriously, who fucking shouts a queer celebrity's name everytime they would usually be saying fuck or shit?

Started for the main characters, stayed for the side characters.
