Great concept but didn’t mesh with the writing style. I do love how it always seems like something sinister is happening but really there isn’t but it just starts to drag on too long

I’m half and half on this one. I like it because the commentary was fun and witty. But I didn’t like it because it ended up feeling more like an odd rom com, which isn’t my usual cup of tea. The dialogue kept me reading more.
I say weird because it's not your typical meet cute, Hallmark. This is darker and more morbid. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but can be off-putting when you first start. But if the reader continues through it. They might actually find it interesting.
Overall, I rate this novel 3 out of 5 stars.

This was such an entertaining read with many unexpected twists that definitely kept me on my toes!
I think the marketing is a bit misleading, but in a good way! The reader is set up to expect a gory thriller, with sprinkles of romance, but the actual story is quite different and focuses on grief, human connections, and complicated family dynamics. Overall, I enjoyed the wacky and unconventional banter among the characters and how I truly didn’t know what to expect next.

I liked the first 45%, then it became hard to follow and confusing; it seemed like a totally different book..I almost was going to quit but hung in there for another 15% or so and it got better with lots of twists and turns.
This was…something. I don’t know if I had the incorrect premise or if this was really as bad as I think but this was horrible. Pretentious writing, terrible execution and even worse messaging. This was just not for me
