This is a fun read that seemed to play hide and seek with the motivations of the quirky main characters and the kaleidoscope of coworkers. I snickered and sometimes laughed my sox off over the antics and innuendos.

Have you ever started a book thinking you knew exactly where it was going... only to realize, halfway through, you were completely lost?
That was me with Serial Killer Games — and honestly, it was amazing.
At 50%, at 80%, I was still clinging to a story that simply didn’t exist. I thought I was diving into a dark, twisted romcom... and instead, I ended up wiping away tears, absolutely wrecked.
The beginning was slow, and I almost gave up — I almost missed out on something truly special.
Because this book... this book sneaks up on you. It wraps themes like grief and loneliness in a story that feels like a dangerous, beautiful game — and before I knew it, I was all in, heart and soul.
If you asked me at 20%, I would’ve hesitated. But now? Now I’m here, shouting from the rooftops: 5 glowing stars.
Don’t walk away from this one. Let it break you a little. It’s worth it.

Serial Killer Games is not what I expected whatsoever. And I loved EVERY MINUTE!

Jake and Dolores/Dodi are both fascinating characters, and the twists in this one are spot on!!

 “ᴘʟᴀɴꜱ ᴛᴏɴɪɢʜᴛ, ᴅᴏʟᴏʀᴇꜱ?”
“ɴᴏ. ʙᴜᴛ ɪ ᴋɴᴏᴡ ᴡʜᴀᴛ ʏᴏᴜ’ʀᴇ ᴅᴏɪɴɢ.” “ᴡʜᴀᴛ?”
“ᴘᴜᴛᴛɪɴɢ ᴛʜᴇ ꜰɪɴɪꜱʜɪɴɢ ᴛᴏᴜᴄʜᴇꜱ ᴏɴ ʏᴏᴜʀ ʜᴜᴍᴀɴ ꜱᴋɪɴ ꜱᴜɪᴛ. ɪ’ᴍ ᴀɴ ᴇxᴘᴇʀᴛ ᴏɴ ꜱᴇʀɪᴀʟ ᴋɪʟʟᴇʀꜱ. ɪ ᴄᴀɴ ᴀʟᴡᴀʏꜱ ꜱᴘᴏᴛ ᴏɴᴇ ɪɴ ᴛʜᴇ ᴡɪʟᴅ. ɪᴛ’ꜱ ᴛʜᴇ ꜱᴛᴇɴᴄʜ ᴏꜰ ʙʟᴇᴀᴄʜ ᴀɴᴅ ᴛʜᴇ ᴀᴜʀᴀ ᴏꜰ ᴅᴇꜱᴘᴀɪʀ.”

This book was absolutely unhinged in the BEST possible way. Dolores and Jake were so much fun to read. The banter was 🔥🔥🔥 the snark these two traded back and forth was amazing. I also really appreciated that there was a deeper more emotional arc for each character that really paid off in the end.

I definitely recommend this one for the true crime fans, and those who love an angsty romance!

A huge thank you to @berkleyromance and @netgalley for an advanced copy of this one! I enjoyed it so much!!
mysterious

DNF @ 30%

Although this premise was fun, I found the conversations and banter between the two main characters a bit cringy. Although I can tell that the chemistry between these two is very good, I just didn't connect with them.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this arc in exchange for my honest review

This was super unexpected. I went into it blind thinking it would be one thing and was completely thrown by what it actually was. There were some twists that I never saw coming that really elevated the plot. I enjoyed both MCs and they complemented each other well. The side characters were strong and the sex doll storyline was absolutely hilarious. If you love true crime and/or have a weird/darker sense of humor you will probably enjoy this one.

This book is NOT what i had in mind but in a good way. It had more twists and turns than a mountain switchback trail and i ate it up.
Its hilarious, its witty, its mysterious. The dark metaphors worked so well that i was on the edge of my seat the entire time and never knew what to expect.

“Her lips are the color of sudden, painful death.”

What I was expecting from Serial Killer Games:

🔪 silly, satirical rom-com
🔪 cliched kinda cringey moments
🔪 lighthearted with little depth

What I actually found in Serial Killer Games:

🩸 laugh-out-loud banter
🩸 complex characters that burrowed into my very soul
🩸 a rich and layered story that I can’t stop thinking about

This is your classic office romance, where the temp is clearly a psychotic serial killer and the true-crime obsessed hottie down the hall is surely a maneating black widow.

This book actually had no business being as good as it is 😂 we all love a silly little rom com so when I saw a book with “temp marry kill” on the front I was buckled in for a twisted little office romance novel.

IT WAS SO MUCH MORE THAN THAT 😭

The backstories of our MFC and MMC are equally intriguing and heartbreaking, it made me ACTUALLY give a shit about them unlike many a romcom 😂

I actually found myself laughing at the banter between the two main characters. As a person in a piss take marriage I appreciate the constant razzing on each other 🤌🏻

Also, not everyone’s cup of tea I know (and mild spoiler warning) but the cool mum representation speaks to me in such a comforting way. Motherhood is weird and wonderful and it’s nice to see a mum who is hot AF, rather than boring and frazzled and tired.

The premise is just delicious, the execution is perfection - the true crime girlies NEED to add this to their TBR.

“No one’s ever kissed me like this, like a spider sucking the life from its prey.”
