Thank you NetGalley and Atlantic Books for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book it was not at all what I expected and I loved it.
The banter and chemistry between the 2 main characters was amazing and I ate it up with all of their snippy back and forth. It felt like a very unique premise with the nod to true crime throughout and definitely gives romcom vibes. There was so many points in this book where I was not expecting at all where the book was going next and it kept me hooked and engaged throughout.
I can't wait for more books from this author as if this is her debut book I'm so excited for what could come next.

Thank you for the free book, Berkley Romance!
In this genre-bending debut, two co-workers find one another equally suspicious, as well as attractive. Jack is a temp working at Dodi’s company, and he fits the mold of a serial killer to a T. However, Jack isn’t the only one behaving strangely.
Although I could go on about this book all day, I want to be sure to make my review purposefully vague. Do not let anyone spoil this book for you, my fellow readers! There are so many unexpected surprises inside and it’s best to go in blind. I am not sure what I’d classify this book as- it’s not really a rom com, a romance, a mystery, or a thriller, but there are some elements of these within the book. It’s poignant, emotional, macabre at times, and has a lovely message too. I loved the flawed characters (except for one- you know who you are, you weren’t nice at all) and the completely unique storyline. I can guarantee you haven’t read a book like this one. If you enjoy a book that crosses genres, marriage of convenience, one bed, found family, family secrets, true crime, pranks, and dark humor, you will love this book!

Serial Killer Games killed it. I loved the twisty plot and the characters. The story kept me engaged from beginning to end. The snarky, sarcastic tone and dialog were hilarious, and the ending was perfection. I hope Ms. Posey intends to be a serial author because I’m dying to read more books from her.

a super surprising book about killers (?) egging each other on for fun
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the complimentary ARC. All opinions provided are my own.
what’s the last book that surprised you?
What did I just read?!!! I mean that in the best possible way.
Serial Killer Games by Kate Posey kept me on my TIPPY TOES. My mind was repeatedly blown & the twists & turns my brain & heart took were wild.
The book starts off with two dark weird-os (said affectionately) being dark & weird with each other. I had no idea how dark Jacob & Dolores actually were, if they were killers, how far they might go.
& then they have this fantastic, vaguely antagonistic but not really, series of power play moves in their office setting that had me internally giggling.
Serial Killer Games is twisted & fun & dark & morbid but then it becomes very sweet too (how did that happen?!!!) & my heart was so engaged.
I can’t describe this book bc the reader’s experience is such a big part of it. You’re supposed to go on this big guessing game, I think, & it’s unsettling & fun & surprising.
The best combo I can think of is this book is Addams Family with dashes of Miss Congeniality haha.
out 04/29.
CWs: sexual predation, murder, genetic neurological disease, loss of spouse, assisted death

I loved this book. It is so witty, full of dark humor and puns. The story is intricate and unwraps like a present. I fell in love with the characters and writing and couldn’t put it down. This fast-paced, rom-com about two people with a morbid sense of humor instilled by lots of trauma was a true delight to read. Cannot wait to read what this author writes next!
