Absolutely adored this! It's cheesy, fun, and doesn't take itself too seriously even with serious topics. There were some parts I loved and a few I didn't expect/enjoy but it came together well at the end and I'm still pleased overall. Definitely give it a read if you're looking for a fun dramatic unexpected romance.

Summary: Dolores de la Cruz works an Office job and gets paid really good money for it. The hang up? The rest of her department got canned but she slipped through the firing squad crack and got to stay in her cushy corner office working all day doing not a whole lot but she stays busy while consuming to much true crime podcasts. The new office temp? Jack; well he wants to know what Dolores deal is why she’s so secretive and standoffish. They are both nosey and trying to figure each other out. When Jack starts giving Dolores office creep vibes she starts to suspect that maybe he is also into true crime and by that she means he could be a killer. They start playing “serial killer games” in the office that pass as psychotic flirting.. maybe? Who knows.

Review: This book starts with very dark macabre humor and a kind of dry love interest in our two mains, but as the story develops it cultivates into this deeper love story about people and their struggles and poses the question, can they be loved despite their own issues and short comings?
This book is very strange. Hilariously weird and chaotic is the best way to describe this book. I ended up loving the romance between Dolores and Jack and was actually very satisfied with the ending which was shocking because that’s not what I expected. This is one of those weird romance books where I feel like none of the summaries that you’re going to read for this book are going to do; what this book is actually about; justice. This book is kinda similar to “Love Letters to a Serial Killer by Tasha Coryell” if you’re into that kind of strange but captivating storytelling. I also feel like this book gets better as the book goes on and the author finds more of a rhythm.
Definitely would read something else written by this author, so I thought it was good.

This book was honestly amazing. I love how the miscommunication made sense and was seamlessly solved instead of being the main plot line. The love they hold is balanced and not an extreme slow burn or insta love. I got a bit confused on some aspects with the dolls (were they real people or just really high quality and robotic dolls). But overall a wonderful romance and I loved the ending
