It started off slow but it definitely got better and I'm so happy that I stuck with it. Can't wait for the next one.

It was my first encounter with Alyson's work, and I like it, Even though I read all three books, right after each other, This one was not the best in series, but still it was amazing. New world, and all that Jazz.

The author really outdid herself maiking this new world. And Fated, that's the best title for the book. It's is right to the point, and no point in arguing about that. Guess, this review will be short one, why? Because I actually read all three books already, and wrote their reviews first, so what I wish to say will spoil other two and this one too, and I really don't intend to spoil a really good book for you.

But what I will say is : Even everyone one of us wants be change our lives when we turn 16, to uncover some dark secret our parents were keeping from us. To say: I knew it! but does it come true? I'll say not for me, when I turned 16, nothing special happened, and everything was boringly normal. But that can't be said about Daire, our current book main character. She the one who wasn't dreeming of being not whole human, is that partly human being. Did she ask for it, no, did she get it? Hell yeah!. So while we, normal people want to become something special, Daire got it. And trust me, it's not something to want. There are glowing people who want something from you, there is a boy in her dreams, who dies in her hand, there is a a twin brother of that guy haunthing here andd her fated one and there is a prophecy coming true! Still want her life? I don't think so. Oh and I nearly forgot, and there are doctors saying she is going delusional. So good for being normal.

This book leaves you craving for the seond one, that is why if you consider reading Fated, by it with Echo too, Why? because you will want to read them together right after each other. So I will say only this now, Happy Reading Guys! it is an amazing book, with a whole new world unravelling before your eyes, which will leave you brethless, and craving for the sequel... Enjoy it, and I do hope you will. Don't forget to tell me what you thought about it!!! :))

Another fantastic book by Alyson Noel.

After an incident in Morocco where Daire saw visions of her dead father as well as other and crows she is sent to live with her Grandmother Paloma - who she has never met - in a small barren town called Enchantment in New Mexico because her mother believes that there is something really wrong with her and the medication from the hospital are not working.

While she is in Enchantment she discovers a whole new world with magick and doesn't adapt to the place right away and runs away but she misses the bus out of town and has to wait two hours for the next one, while she is waiting she goes into The Rabbit Hole which is a club run by the Ritchers also known as 'El Coyote', Daire runs into Cade.

When running from Cade Daire gets into an accident and after the accident she learns that the Santos family bloodline ends with her and that she is destined to be a Soul Seeker and most of the book is about Daire learning about her skills and how to control them from Paloma. Daire soon discovers that Paloma is the only one who understands her.

Daire is sent on a spirit journey where she discovers that The Raven is her spirit animal and that she is the daughter of the wind and it isn't until her vision quest Daire realises that she is now a Santos and not a Lyons. After the spirit journey Daire came face to face with the two boys.

There is a lot of the Mexican culture in the book such as the 'Day of the Dead' celebration, shamans, witch doctors etc which I found really interesting and learned a lot. Daire learns how to see things threw the eyes of animals and learns all about her spirit animal the Raven.

At the beginning of the book Daire is more concerned with herself than others but towards the end she becomes more sympathetic to others and concerned in her duty as a seeker than of herself. Dace and Cade are two totally different people and you have to read the book to find out why but Dace is nice, good and kind where Cade is Evil, bad and manipulative. They are both attracted to Daire but both have different reason as to why Dace loves Daire where Cade just wants to use her for evil.

Daire has spent most of her life dreaming of a guy named Dace who is Cade's twin brother. Dace is the one she is meant to spend the rest of her life with and Cade is her enemy. Cade tries to get Daire to join himby telling her that they can make the worlds (Lowerworld, Middleworld and Upperworld) a better place.

Fated was a great read and had a lot of interesting moments which I enjoyed. Alyson's detail throughout Fated was just as good as it was in her previous novels so I wasn't even a little bit disappointed, Fated is just as unique as the Immortals series because it doesn't have vampires or werewolves like most novels out in the world today.

I am looking forward to getting started on Echo

If your an Alyson Noel fan you will enjoy the first installment of the Soul Seekers

Better than most books I've read in the same category of supernatural/paranormal teenage-main-character with some romance.

DID NOT FINISH

Got this as an ARC; tried to read it, could not get into it.

This is about 3.5 stars but we dont have the half option. The book was actually pretty enjoyable. Much more enjoyable than the Immortal series , I hope it stays that way because Evermore wasnt so bad the series just got worse as went on. When I finished this book I couldn't help feeling like the author could've did more like she had some really good stuff in there, I also wanted some mre romance. When we finally got Dace he was amazing but it was just close to the end of the book :( I really like Paloma alot.

Really similar to the immortal series in the way the characters interact. It hasn’t really explained a lot and just seemed to throw this girl into a random situation. Also a big time gap that your just supposed to accept and move on, she goes from hating her Nan to loving her and it doesn’t give any background.
Good twin evil twin *rolls eyes* unoriginal and kind of lame. The idea of using Native American customs and legends could be really good but the author fails to give enough details so it comes across as wishy washy and not well researched.

I was expecting something grand while reading Fated. This being my first novel by Alyson Noel, I was hoping it'd be a keeper. Unfortunately, the cliches and awkward pacing of the novel as a whole didn't do it for me.

The gruesome descriptions vividly brought me into this book, captivating my interest and utilizing the ultimate question: What is going on with Daire? Taking a trip into Enchantment, New Mexico to visit her grandmother and learn what the hell is going on inside the workings of her mind to bring images such as severed heads on pikes, leaving her screeching in public and banned from airlines altogether. Enchantment is where it all takes place, her last option and her mother's final go-to in order to help her daughter.

The whole beginning is meticulously planned out, every increment, long and tedious and overstrung. The ending happens in a flash. It was rushed. Noel takes such care and detail in the beginning and then, when the final battle comes around, I'm confused because it literally happens in almost three pages. It comes and goes and then it ends. With such a long drawn out beginning, I was hoping--expecting--for a more grandeur ending sequence. It irked me and just ruined the flow and the pacing.

Not just that, we all know that twins happen to be a big prophetic choice: one of dark, one of light. We've all heard it before. Well let's introduce Dace and Cade. Yeah, it's cliched beyond while reading. When Daire first enters school we find the common bully that goes and weeds the main protagonist out. Now I've read many books with this and I find it a revolting and mundane antic to use for a new girl in school.

This part was just bothering me, Darie's mother and her strange mood swing and unexpected visit to Enchantment. She brought her daughter there to get better and by the end she's threatening to pull her out of there. I just didn't follow and made me both annoyed and confused with her character.

All in all, I enjoyed the premise of the story and the descriptions. The Seeker ideals and the spirit animals were an interesting take and had me continue but the cliches and the lagging-then-sporadic pace of the novel made it hard to enjoy it in the end.

Daire Santos is the daughter of a vagabond make-up artist who carts her across the globe from job to job. Life seems both glamorous and lonely for Daire as she mingles with Hollywood’s young elite and is forced to end the flings as quickly as they begin. It isn’t until Daire begins having visions of crows and glowing people that her sanity is questioned and she is forced to settle in the small town of Enchantment, New Mexico with her grandmother, who understands these images as Daire’s calling in life.

Fated is written by author Alyson Noel who is best known for her Immortals series. Fated is an intriguing story rooted in Native American mythology with enough twists and turns to satisfy any YA reader. In stark contrast to Noel’s earlier offerings, Fated is well-written and laden with historical facts that contribute to the reader’s enjoyment, rather than burden the plot with unnecessary detail. It focuses on the journey of the young heroine rather than relying on a fluffy love story to make it relevant. Daire Santos is a relatable protagonist with an interest in – get this – a nice guy!

Noel has grown vastly as a writer and it is evident throughout the novel. Her ability to capture a reader and take them on a ride has grown tremendously. My hope for future installments is that Noel is able to convey a sense of real, palpable depth for these characters who have so far skimmed the surface. I am excited to see what the future holds for Daire as she carves her niche among the Young Adult fanbase.
