"Nightmare In Savannah" is a graphic novel about four friends who, after discovering they're fairies, exact revenge on their bullies. There is queer rep (specifically wlw & ace) and two out of four of the friends are POC, which I thought was really great. The sapphic romance was so pure and sweet, I loved it with my whole heart.
Another thing I really liked about this was the art style. I saw some people on GR complain about it, but I thought it was quirky, funky, and just cool. I liked the colors that were used and how the art was utilized to tell the story. The characters all had their own unique design that made them pop off the page. My favorite characters were definitely Skye and Fae!
There were some things about this that didn't work for me. For one, sometimes the story felt a little disjointed in its writing. I felt like I was accidentally skipping pages where I thought there should've been a continuation of a certain scene, but the scene would abruptly cut to something else just when I was getting into it. This only happened a couple of times, but I had to scroll back in my ebook edition to make sure that I didn't accidentally skip over anything.
Another thing that I felt could've been done better was the ending. It felt a little abrupt for my taste, but it might work for some people. I, personally, struggle with abrupt endings.
Other than those things, this is a solid graphic novel and a quick, cute read!! It's on KU so you really have nothing to lose by giving it a go.

Thank you Netgallay and the publisher for this eARC.
Trigger Warnings: bullying, death, manipulation, murder, slurs.
Nightmare in Savannah by Lela Gwenn follows Alexa who moves to Savannah with her grandfather after her parents get arrested. She start going to Lovewood High School and meets Fae, Skye and Chloe. After a night out with them things start to get weird, and physical changes are happening to them. They realize that they are not as normal as they thought they were.
The story is fast paced, has an interesting plot, and diverse characters. It definitely has some of that spooky vibes that’s perfect for October.
Unfortunately, I don’t feel like it was executed properly.
The pacing was off, and the dialogue felt awkward and forced most of the time.
Couldn’t get any real connection with the characters since there wasn’t time to get to know them or for any development.
I’m also not a fan of the illustration style and felt like it could have been improved.
I didn’t want to dnf it because I wanted to review it properly.

The only thing in my opinion that puts this book at a 1.5 is the gorgeous art and the palette choice. The concept is wonderful, but the writing leaves much to desire. The pacing is atrocious, and half of the time I had no idea what was going on. I wish I could understand the plot better, but there was just unlikable characters following a story that was incomprehensible to me.
