salty this trilogy ended on a cliff hangar but so good!

3.5 ⭐

This has been a really fun series and I really enjoy Blake Crouch's take on thrillers and sci-fi. This felt like the weakest of the trilogy. The first half felt like we were still in exposition. While the second half felt like there wasn't quite enough time to wrap up the loose ends.

I really enjoyed the Wayward Pines trilogy. I obviously would love to see a 4th book to see where they end up. This book had a lot of action and twists, I couldn’t put it down and didn’t want it to end.

Wayward Pines, you have stolen my sanity and I want more!!!!

How is it that I finished this trilogy and STILL want more of this craziness? How is it that this book scares the shit out of me, but yet, I want to live in Wayward Pines. I was not expecting to get what I did from these books. Now, book two was slower that one and three, but worth the time. It answered a lot of questions, but book 3...HOLY FUCKING SHIT! Its like I boarded a roller coaster of horror and it didn't stop till the end of the track. DO NOT ASSUME ANYTHING with these books! And I'm so glad I read these before the series starts. (I looked up the trailer, its just as creepy as the book, but it does give away the book...SO DON'T WATCH TILL YOU FINISH READING BOOK ONE!!!!)

I want more of detective Ethan Burke!!!

P.S. If you have KindleUnlimited the entire series and audiobooks are free!

This book is pure horrific chaos. So many abbies! My few complaints are (1) Hassler deserved a worse ending, and I was hoping Kate was going to push him off the cliff, (2) there was a lot of gore in the book generally, so I feel like we got robbed of Pilcher being torn apart on screen like so many of the citizens did, and (3) based on where things were left with Margaret, I feel like she should have been mentioned more in this book (and the others).
