Beautifully written, but a VERY slow build, with a lot of the action and development occurring in the last 100 pages. The book could have been shortened, the overall pacing was off, the ending was… confusing? But still a pleasant and enjoyable read.

Interesting read. Not a lot of backstory given but I'll read the second. I did like Alizeh and her character so far. The prince, eh.
this felt rushed in some places, kind of like there were no editors.
in this era of fast fiction, i really don’t think it’s Tahereh Mafis fault. especially because i’ve read her writing before.

I hate insta-love but I didn’t even mind it in this book because of how satisfying their dialogue was.
Does that mean I’m rooting for Kamran? Definitely not. I’ll ride Cyrus’s dragon ☺️

Overall, I enjoyed this one. What I liked:
- The world/setting felt a bit different than the usual fantasy which was refreshing
- Even though Alizeh's personality felt a bit bland/didn't really show until later in the book, I liked her.
- The book wasn't predictable, at least not for me
Why I'm not giving it a higher rating:
- The world building was a bit confusing. I dont know if it's intentional, to explain more in later books, but I didn't really understand how magic works for example.
- I didn't like Kamran and the insta love between them
- The pacing was a bit slow

First half of the book - it felt like nothing and everything was happening at once.
I did enjoy this book and I think that the upcoming parts will be promising, however this one wasn’t as good as I expected it to be

fazia tempo que eu lia um livro tão rápido assim.
apesar disso, achei o ritmo dele meio..estranho. as cenas de "ação" era muito rápidas, enquanto os pensamentos internos dos personagens consumiam quase que capitulos inteiros. senti um pouco que não aconteceu muita coisa durante o livro, e no final acontece muita coisa ao mesmo tempo.
mesmo assim, o livro soube despertar a minha curiosidade. isso com certeza também é graças a forma que ele foi escrito, que eu achei bem imersiva - principalmente nas falas dos personagens.
eu gostei bastante dos dois personagens principais, mas senti que faltou um pouco de desenvolvimento dos personagens secundários...
admito que passei o livro todo esperando a apiração do famoso cyrus, e to pronta pra começar o proximo livro imediatamente.
