Wow this is so much more useful when you actually pay attention while reading it (who would have thought). I hope Mrs littlewood is proud - however do I remember anything from it no - will I need this in my life, probably not BUT it’s such a cool brag to say I’ve read the communist manifesto🙌🙌🙌

"WORKING MEN OF ALL COUNTRIES, UNITE!"

I cannot give this book a rating. No matter my opinion, it is one of the written works that had an enormous influence on the history of mankind.

According to Karl Marx, capitalism is a deeply flawed system. He sees a great inequality between the bourgeoisie and proletariat. Bourgeoisie has all the riches, and with that — all the power. Whereas the people who work for wages are excluded from politics and exploited just as much as the slaves. Marx offers a program that can end the class-driven society and create one where people are equal.

"Let the ruling classes tremble at a Communistic revolution ... Proletarians have nothing to lose but their chains. They have a world to win."

“Whatever portion of the working class had become convinced of the insufficiency of mere political revolutions, and had proclaimed the necessity of a total social change, that portion then called itself Communist.”

For many years I planned reading this book, but I always postponed it. After moving to the UK, my first job was in a factory, and I thought that I wouldn’t have a better opportunity to link theory to practice. And indeed it made this reading experience unique.

It is definitely a must read, doesn’t matter your political view. It is shocking to perceive how this book is unfortunately still up to date, and the majority of its claims are yet to be conquered.
Sadly, I have few hopes that one day these changes will happen.
