This series was so fun to read. It was the first modern danmei I’ve ever picked up, which I was worried about but the meshing with the past lives was done so well that I got to enjoy the historical vibes that I love so much with other danmei. I did have some difficulty following the overall plot, there were a lot of things happening, but it was overall a fun, good read.

I’ll be honest and say that I found the wrap up of this story extremely confusing. I’m glad the MCs are together. I’m especially glad Guo Changcheng is alright as he is my favourite. But again, not sure I really understood the story. I don’t know. It was mostly a fun read, but the translation or my lack of knowledge of Chinese culture hampered my enjoyment I think.
