i know this is probably the most unpopular volume in the series but i loved every page of it, especially of the main story. i adored how deep the lore went, being put on its own head just for the same pieces to fall into a completely different place, and how everyone got their spot to shine from zhao yunlan and shen wei to the members of the SID - especially zhu hong and chu shuzhi. it was action-packed, it was fast-paced, it was informative and still didn’t forget to not take itself too serious sometimes, and this balance between levity and heaviness in the story made this last part of the series such a well-rounded and entertaining treat.
also adored the bonus stories, especially sage 2 and the mountain spirit!
