With this volume I pretty much had the same issues as with the last volume of this series, which is that I had a very hard time following and understanding the lore and plot. The "fake-memories" also didn't really make it easier to discern what actually happened in the past.

Still, overall I enjoyed this series very much and I absolutely adored Zhao Yulans and Shen Wei's relationship.

Guardian 3 was such a let down. I was bored reading the first half of the book. Anytime I read a myth mentioned, few chapters later I learned it was a deception. Deception after deception from the last part of book 2 till half of book 3. 

I liked all the characters and was happy with how their stories ended and by the end of this series Daqing became my favorite character.

I’m glad it’s over and I don’t know if it’s just the translation that was bad or the story

I think one of the biggest plot holes is why the Soul-Executing Emissionary would need to cosplay as a University Professor long term if he promised to never interact with the Guardian and only needed to keep an eye on him from afar.. It makes no sense that he would take his role as professor so seriously that he would voluntary fall into a trap of the Magistrate when he knew something would happen to the Guardian (Book 2)… It’s all very odd
The extras were nice, but the main story lacked in many aspects..
I wish we would of seen Shen Wei and Zhao Yunlan fall in love or experience the love with them instead if just being told they were..
