Of the many Sweet Dreams books that I read in my youth (30 years ago), this is the only one in which I remembered the name, main characters and general story line. I recently re-read it as part of my Goodreads 2013 Challenge and it touched my heart yet again. Paul Strobe, I will always remember you!
13 year old me lived for this book. 25 years later, I still think of Paul Strobe when I see the words PS I Love You. 37 year old me still lives this book, if only for the nostalgia it brought back reading it.
My favorite book as a teen/tween.
As a tween, the sweet dreams series was my absolute favorite -- but this one, and the sequel, were by FAR my favorite. I still remember a line from it... too embarrassing to write about ;-)

Since I last read this book as an impressionable tween who wasn't yet so cynical about life or fiction, for that matter, I can't speak critically to its quality. I can only say that I remember where I was and how this book made me feel; that is, I sobbed my eyes out when I finished this book. A little over a decade later, I struggle to find books that make me feel that much, so I can say that this book accomplishes something.
