There will be SPOILERS in this review!

Gege when I catch you Gege. YOU’RE SUCH AN ASS AND I’LL NEVER FORGIVE YOU FOR WHAT YOU DID. And no, it’s not the fact that my man Gojo lost because I’ve seen spoilers. I knew what I was getting myself into. But oh god, who let you write this.

But let’s not rush ourselves there… we have a lot of ground to cover before that. This entire volume was just a big fight between Sukuna and Gojo and it was very interesting. They were both on pretty much equal ground the entire time and I really liked the way they experimented with their techniques trying to best each other. Although I have to say Sukuna isn’t at his best here - and it’s not because he’s up against Gojo. He just doesn’t seem as big of a threat when compared to his Shibuya self. There he was a menace that mocked everyone and he killed without hesitations with his own cursed technique. Here it’s just Mahoraga this, Mahoraga that. Like dude, fight your own battles.

Anyway, Gojo loses as we probably all knew because internet is a bitch when it comes to spoilers. So you know, I made peace with the fact that I will see the strongest one die in this volume. But then Gege had to ruin it. At the end of one chapter, Gojo is alive and well and Gege is like “Gojo wins” and then he proceeds to start the next chapter with GOJO TALKING TO GETO IN THE AFTERLIFE… WHAT THE FUCK DUDE????? THAT’S MESSED UP. YOU CAN’T DO THAT. IT’S FORBIDDEN. I mean, the afterlife is my favorite scene in this volume but still… imagine reading this week to week, feeling sure that Gojo won and then getting hit with that scene a week later. I would have cried and thrown some things at my wall. Anyway, I loved the afterlife scene. I mean, Geto was there and Haibara and Nanamin and the principal. I love how everyone made peace with their deaths and just enjoyed each other’s company again. Also I love how Gojo missed Geto and wished to have him cheering for him.

Despite Gege’s crime of making us feel hope when there was none, this was a very compelling volume. Jujutsu Kaisen haven’t made me feel this much emotion for a long time. 5 stars. But Gege please, don’t kill every single character out there. Sukuna is strong but that doesn’t mean everyone has to die in order to beat him.
