I enjoyed this book I've been excited to read it for awhile it was a cute read i think the ending could've been better still enjoyable though this book is about the main character's Julian and Hallie i loved the fact that we got to meet August and Natalie in this book I can't wait to read there story in Unfortunately yours and there is secret love letters that Hallie writes Julian confessing to him her feelings that she's had for awhile some of the tropes in this book are Opposites attract, Small town romance, Grumpy x Sunshine and Second chance romance this book has a happy ending with no cliffhangers no love triangle and no cheating and also Hallie has her friend Owen who she likes only as a friend but Owen likes her more then a friend so there is jealousy between Julian and the side character Owen but nothing crazy it still had me giggling every time Julian got jealous i loved it this book is spicy not extremely spicy but
nonetheless spicy im not very good at reviews so I'll leave it at that👆🏽and overall i rated this book 4 stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A romance book that felt very haphazardly put together. As if all of the pieces were plugged in that should together make a whole book, but nobody stood back at the end and said, ‘hmm maybe these pieces come from different puzzles.’
At the end of the day, Bailey writes excellent spice and fun characters, but I was very frustrated but the mental health representation (or lack thereof) in this book. Just read it so I can read book 2 which is supposed to be fantastic.

Funny and sweet, opposites attract, second chance romance involving a gardener and the son of a vineyard owner.  Hallie is still grieving the death of the grandmother who helped raise her while keeping her landscaping business going and trying to prevent her grandmother's favorite wine-tasting room from losing business.  Julian is a history professor who has returned to his family's vineyard on sabbatical to write a novel.  He has battled anxiety and panic attacks but has learned to prevent them by adhering to strict, self-imposed schedules.  The romance storyline was good, but what elevated this another star for me, was how the characters dealt with their mental health and supported each other.

I've read and really liked most of Tessa Bailey's books, so although kind of put off by the cover art (man in business suit, woman in cut off short shorts), I assumed this would be good. It is...not. He has a serious mental health issue/trauma that's SUPER not addresses properly (in the plot or by the author), and she's incredibly personally wreckless and immature. Early in the book she gets mad and steals hundreds of dollars worth of food from a restaurant....and he defends her...and she's so attracted to him for that...? It's baffling. It gets fairly sexy at a few points, but cringey? "You like that, don't you sweetheart?" energy. Just icky. The ending was rushed and just made no sense. What about his actual job? His mental health? (Like seriously, he needs help.)

Updating to add: also...what was with her dogs?? Like yes please write dogs into plots! Absolutely! But there was so much "and her dogs came tumbling after her." We got their names. Uhh. Anything to add? It was such a weird and shallow gesture of "give the main character some animals."

Not my favorite book by this author, for me it fell a little flat and the spice had some cringey lines.
