Cool concept. Poor execution. It was paced way too slow, and there’s no atmosphere or sense of fear. For a death game story, there’s very little gore. Most of the death are off screen. The characters are so vague that many of them blur together.

This was kind of like Cabin in the Woods meets the myth of Theseus and the Minotaur. But queer and with a dash of found family.

An interesting promise but that doesn't follow through: we finish this book with many questions and few answers.
The characters are intriguing but most are erased and their backstory is not very well elaborated.
This book is short in pages but a little long in pace: I would have liked more tension and suspense rather than long descriptions which, most of the time, don't add much.

The vibes were it
It kept changing which character we were following so it took a while to get used to it.

I enjoyed it. I am not gonna lie was it consistent? no. But i kept turning the page to see what would happen next i also loved the old abandoned amusement park.

A very quick read, the characters are well-fleshed out and the lore of the world is quite interesting. Unfortunately, the pacing was inconsistent. The dread never really gets a chance to settle and once you hit about the middle of the book, there is no time to even feel the increasing pressure of the impending deadline.
