Even though I had been slightly spoiled for something that happens this "season", I was intrigued by how it played out.

I'm not feeling this one as much as I loved the season 8 story-lines. I hate zombie stuff.
But, that was a whale of a cliff hanger! So of course I have to keep reading these! But then I discovered they've all disappeared from kindle and comixology! :-(

We're back on track (sort of). There are still ridiculous consequences to sex and drinking (sigh). But it's gotten better as far as the characters within their development rather than starting over with it. The art has gotten...better. Not great. But definitely better than Season 8 so far.

The comics feel more and more like character assassination with every issue... Like, fine, I guess I can stomach Xander dating Dawn and I can see why Buffy would initially react to it so badly that she goes so far as to float the idea that she's in love with him (in Season 8). But did the little montage of party-memories seriously imply that drunk-Buffy and Xander hook up?? Like, Xander is apparently incapable of being in a romantic relationship unless he can cheat on (or abandon) his partner??? And Buffy would do that to the sister who she literally sacrificed her life for??????

The Buffy comics are OK. I wish I liked them more. I enjoy the continuation of beloved characters.

The art was atrocious, the whole "storyline" was one big mess, and it completely failed to make me the least bit interested in what's coming. Naw. Think I'll stick to [b:Angel & Faith: Live Through This Pt. 1|12645210|Angel & Faith Live Through This Pt. 1|Christos N. Gage|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1316240611s/12645210.jpg|17758136].

I had some problems getting into this one, because the ending of season 8 really effed with my sense of what the Buffy series is all about, and of course season 9 will pick up shortly thereafter. There weren't as many nerdy jokes, the Scooby gang kind of disperses, and my attention kind of scattered with them. Not terrible, and it was an improvement over the ending of the last season, if only because it made me feel less depressed about what happened.

A come back to form after the insanity that season 8 was and a welcomed one. At least for me.
Buffy goes back to her roots, the day to day dealing with slaying and trying to have a life.
