I hated reading this in high school, but teaching it to my students now - so much fun. Everyone in this book is going crazy from the beginning, and it's just massively entertaining to watch. Murder, sword fights, drama, mystery, intrigue, suspense. Could not ask for more. Oh, also the questions about free will and agency and fate and guilt and power and on and on and on

Surprisingly not my favorite Shakespeare play. I really thought it would be, but that place is still reserved for "Hamlet." That being said, "Macbeth" is another reminder of Shakespeare's genius and mastery of the English language.
It is at once dark and hilarious, and absolutely worth seeing live. It also has one of the most insane lives outside of the page -- the Macbeth curse.
A play on the mixed realities, and a question of destiny and choice. Worth reading.
