Not sure what more I could have expected from a book about punching babies? It started off humorous but then slowly just kinda lost steam. Landing kind of meh on this one.

The first line in the book read: 'The very first time I punched a baby in the face I didn't realise what I'd done until its mother started shrieking.'

This was so much fun to read.

P.S I do not condone the punching of babies in the face.

Have you ever become tired of society's constant pressure for women to become mothers? Have you ever thought about taking revenge for what you have suffered? Did you think the best way to do that is to punch a baby? Well, look no further because I got the book for you. In this book, our "superhero" goes around punching babies for all those who can't, but a copycat shows up. Now, what will she do?
This was a short but outrageous read, boarding on hilarious.  A sell-described novelette, this book does a good job exploring the frustrations of those who are told their worth is directly tied to motherhood. I recommend this book it was fun.

Well this was certainly a ride...

I liked the criticism about dating in your thirties, when you feel your potential partners just want to use you as a means to an end. If you can't provide a certain service (in this case, your fertility), the rest of you doesn't matter anymore. You can the greatest person on earth, but if you can't produce offspring, your dating pool shrinks significantly regardless of your personality. Frustration is a natural and understandable response.

As a woman who never plans on having children and hates being around young kids, I also enjoyed how the main character ran her mouth off about the glorification of parenthood and reproduction in general. It felt good to read about the taboo topic of women not being hardwired to want to reproduce or even like children, and I think we need to talk about this subject more openly.

All in all, this story was a dark satirical piece that made good and important points in a crude packaging. I'm open to reading more of CV Hunt's stories, especially now that I kinda know what to brace myself for.

"The first time I punched a baby in the face I didn't realize what I'd done until I heard its mother shrieking."

Baby Hater follows an infertile woman who is basically tired of being defined by others by her ability to have/not have a baby. She has been practically shunned by the last two men she was with because of that fact and so her head space is a little angry - and I don't blame her! What ensues is a baby-punching spree to satirical proportions and a copy cat. And what are we if not sheeple in this day and age and do everything we see on the news and post our variations and versions of it on YouTube/Facebook for attention, likes, and sh*ts and giggles? This tongue-in-cheek novellete is a perfect introduction to C.V. Hunt for me to learn some of her style. I truly enjoyed this story and can't wait for more! 4 stars! And my copy is signed! WOO!

This is a story about a woman punching babies. It's an anthem for childless women all over the world!

Very quick read (around a half hour for me), with more to the story than you'd initially suspect.
