This book didn't seem to have as many fun little tidbits thrown in to be excited about for future books (or to connect to past books) but it was still a fun story. The author does the narration which was quite interesting (but I look forward to Marsters coming back! Bob's voice was my only complaint). Looking forward to more, as always.

This is a really wonderful short novella by Jim Butcher. I appreciated that it was a light adventure after what transpired in Battle Ground. Jim reading the story himself was a treat and I think he did a great job.

Would recommend!

Sweet, and a return to form while working through the changes since the early days.

Pretty good short story. Placed me back in a world I was happy to be in. Excited for the next book whenever it comes out.

“You saved my life,” Tripp said. I sighed. “Yeah.” “Well. Don’t think I’m going to fucking pay you for it,” he said. “I’m getting my money.” I stared at the guy for a minute. Some people just can’t learn.

I had the luxury of not having to wait for the release of this novella. I finished Battle Ground roughly two weeks after the release. If I had been waiting since 2020 for a Dresden Files novel and received this, I would've been a little disappointed. Since I didn't have to wait, I thoroughly enjoyed the short story.

Tripp is just as annoying as Rudolph! Rudolph still takes the cake though.

Decent read, always enjoy Dresden. Enjoyed there was little magic in it, back to detective work.

A perfectly fine novella, but nothing special. The direction he seems to be taking the world after Battle Ground is disappointing though.

Excellent Dresden

As someone who is always hungry for more Dresden this was an excellent appetizer before we get an actual novel hopefully next year. In a lot of ways this was an old school case file that was the perfect breather after Battle Ground. It had a little bit of everything I love about Dresden and it scratched the itch nicely. While I really liked seeing some of the aftermath of Battle Ground it was just as satisfying to see Harry doing his thing again. Highly recommended for all Dresdenphiles.
