Playful and fun; the characters are all obstinate in their own way, which makes for decent comedic scenes. I tried to read something else by him after this, though, and it didn't take.

Good book, but in general I struggle with Tom Robbins. It's just too wordy and trippy for my style.

it's never too late to have a happy childhood

Such a fun read oh my gosh!! Some parts were very silly and others were slow but overall a very fun story

I really do like his writing style. It's somewhat like prose poetry. His dialog is very genuine, and his storyline clever.

I turn a blind eye to Robbins Libertarian predilections like a SEC football coach turns a blind eye to his star running backs domestic abuse hobby. I thank God above I read this as a fully developed adult and not when I was a chain smoking folk punk evangelist. You'll say "alright Tom let's settle down" several times, but I describe this book as "cute"
