Listened to this as an audiobook. Chose it mostly because it was available on the library app, I typically enjoy a good short story collection, and I've seen the author's name various places and thought I'd try out one of their books. I made a mistake.

This book was supremely awful. The stories were all one cliché after another. The dialogue was stultifying. The characters were boring and predictable and I found that I didn't care about any of them whatsoever. This book was like the literary version of Emily in Paris except somehow way worse, probably because I couldn't at the very least, make fun of the absurdity - it was too boring for that.

At least the audiobook was short, I guess?
emotional lighthearted relaxing fast-paced

This book was very meh. It's one of the £1 Quick Reads that started last year? So it is a very small very quick read. And unfortunately you can see that in the writing. Although it was a good plot line, I feel that maybe it should have been a longer book. I feel slightly biased as to the fact I don't love novellas because they always seemed rushed. So I have based my review on the physical story itself not the pace.
adventurous hopeful inspiring lighthearted medium-paced

I have enjoyed all of the books that I have read by JoJo Moyes. This one was short stories and vignettes. I found them all interesting and great reading when I needed to wind down from a busy day.
adventurous lighthearted

I skimmed most of the book. It's really more like 2.5 stars. A little too cliche for me.

Nell is 26 and has never been to Paris so books a romantic weekend away with her boyfriend but he doesn’t turn up to get the train so she decides to go to Paris alone. Could this be the most adventurous weekend of her life? ✨

I really enjoyed this book. It was short (perfect for me at the moment!) and funny. 3

Some nice little short stories.

Firstly, the cover for the book looks amazing from the pictures I've seen, gorgeous colours!
Secondly, this is a collection of one fairly short story and several other very short (a few pages long) stories, so brilliant for picking up and putting down again in between each tale. I am a fan of short stories particularly because they offer people a chance to read who are unable to tackle book length books due to health issues or time constraints for example, and yet when done properly leave you thinking about so much after, what happens next etc. Perfect for family holidays when you might only get half an hour in between activities or lunch break reading etc.
Thirdly, Paris For One was my favourite out of all of the stories; with such fabulous characters, especially the amazing Marianne, and the sort of feelgood, empowering, escapist story I love in a book.
