Truly art ...
Even though the manga and the movie have a number of differences, Miyazaki's incredible story telling make it absolutely possible for both to be good. An breathtaking classic, I couldn't help but finish this quickly, even though I don't as-of-yet have access to the rest of the series. Wonderful.

I love the movie and this is even better! Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind tells the story of Princess Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind is a world where the pollution is overwhelming and the insects are bigger then you ever wish them to be. The world has become polluted and there are oceans of rotwood where you will die within minutes without a mask. While this is only the first volume there are 4 more after this, making it something that you will definitely want to read as there is so much more than the movie gave us.
Hayao Miyazaki gives us an amazing look at what our world could look like should we continue down our path of individualization, with the dreamy but deadly atmosphere of the rotwood forest and the huge insects seeking to destroy the pollution of the world.
