This manga is adorable, and I loved everything about it.
It follows Ichinoi, a 75 year old widow who goes into a bookstore on impulse and buys a BL manga. All the teenage girls who work at the store are concerned as to how she’ll react, but she responds by returning the next morning to buy the second volume of the story, desperate to know what happens after the main couple kiss.
Upon that return visit to the store, one of the girls who works there, Urara, realizes that this older woman has all the makings of someone she can talk to about her beloved BL, and they strike up a friendship. It’s so sweet and gentle, and Ichinoi invites her new friend over for dinner one evening, and in exchange Urara brings over more BL books- including a spicy book. In a very relatable moment, Urara then proceeds to overthink the whole situation and worry that the sexual content will offend her new friend. Her worries turn out to be unnecessary, and this volume ends with the two new friends going together to a BL event together, where they will hopefully meet the author of the manga that began their friendship.
This is a quick little read, but it’s so sweet, and the art is gorgeous. I will absolutely be reading more volumes of this story in the future.

This was so sweet and cute. Character development for MC elderly characters might be one of my favorite underrated book tropes. I'm really eating up this MC duo and their adorable unlikely friendship. I really hope that by the time I'm in my 70's, I'm still open to discovering and embracing trends among the youths of the day.
Pacing in this manga was good. I'm assuming we'll get a little more backstory and character development in the next volume.
I recommend this for BL lovers who are looking for a sweet and lighthearted manga that focuses less on BL and more on being a BL fan.

Absolutely adored it! Loved the movie so i picked it up, and the art is so pretty
