Typical cozy mystery. It was cozy. It was mysterious. It was predictable. Twas fine.
This was fine. Jen was a little annoying. She says rude things to her friends and doesn't understand why they get upset. It's a little weird. It's not that she's been sassy, she's just pretty self centered.

This was not good. The main character was annoying and irritatingly dumb, the writing was bad (it felt like the editor told the author that the book was too long and she had to delete every other sentence) and inconsistent and I kind of hate myself for finishing this. I was able to guess the killer before the murder had happened (it was very obvious -_-) and then I had to read how the mc didn’t suspect them at all for the entirety of the book.
And not only was it bad, the cover is also a lie. The murder didn’t happen at the bookstore and there is not even a cat anywhere.
So yeah, definitely don’t recommend reading or buying this.

The “twist” was a bit predictable and the book could have been shorter but it’s a good palate cleanser book if you need something light.
So slow and boring. Climbing Everest with no oxygen would've been less of a chore than having to read this slow paced novel.
