“Because you’re my best friend, and I’m in love with you.”

I absolutely loved this book. It made me laugh, cry, and experience so many emotions and I did not want to put it down.

The characters and their dynamics felt so real. I’ve gonna be thinking about Daphne and Miles for a while after finishing this. I just loved the storyline and the ending and every second of this book.

Booking a trip to Lake Michigan asap! This book is excellent (not that I expected anything less from Emily Henry). I loved Daphne and Miles. They have both been through it but are finding their way to the other side. I just love the comfort that they have with each other, especially after the lack of that they’ve had from previous partners and their parents. Honorable mention to the friendship between Daphne and Ashleigh. Definitely recommend this for the Emily girlies or anyone into the roommates trope.

Emily Henry did it again.
I absolutely loved the story and its characters.
You might expect a standard romance with fake dating, but Emily gives her stories so much depth and makes it feel real.
Also, she touches more topics, family relationships and how your upbringing shapes you, adult friendship and the struggles of adult life.
Also, some parts are so funny, starfish …

🎤 Jennifer Whelan does a great job narrating the book. I love her Julie a lot!

spoiler from the end of the book
I celebrated it so much when Daphne stood up to her father on the phone at the end of the book 💥

Emily Henry is my queen! 👑 Everything she writes is always equal parts funny and heartfelt. Funny Story goes beyond the standard fake dating trope to tell a deeply meaningful story about love; romantic, familial, and platonic. I really enjoyed Daphne’s journey of self-discovery. Her character arc was extremely satisfying. I also loved the layers to Miles. His character was surprisingly soft. As always, the side characters and the communal setting were as much a testament to the love story as the main characters. I’m already looking forward to rereading this.

I just adore Emily Henry! I got this book on the day it came out and couldn’t put it down. I loved Daphne and Miles’ love story and the fact that she didn’t feel worthy of other people really hit home for me. I truly connected with Daphne in that way, as I’ve been feeling a lot like her in my life lately. It was refreshing to read a romance that not only taught me more about my myself, but also had an amazing set of characters that were all lovable in their own way. I love the way Emily Henry writes and I absolutely adored this book, highly recommend!
