This is a stunning start to a new fantasy series steeped in magic, romance and adventure! I very quickly fell in love with our main characters and was drawn in by the mystery and pacing. The development of relationships was a little lacking for me in some places but I cannot wait to see how they blossom further into the series. Paula was possibly my favourite character as I just loved how cute and funny they were but honestly this whole cast of characters have such a variety of traits and personalities that it’s a pleasure to read their interactions. This is the perfect read for fans of Sarah J Maas and Rebecca Yarros and I cannot wait to continue with the series!

Queer. Good world building and cool world. Fun and complex magic system.
I find it really hard to be invested in a plot where the characters are so boring and one dimensional like it's fine if your plot is predictable i love many noncomplex books with minimal world building and an easy to follow plot but you have to make good characters. I can't even say I hated any of them cuz I just felt nothing. when the betrayal was revealed that the cousin staged the queens death i couldnt even find myself to be hurt at his betrayal or at his death. the writing was also just unnatural. I usually can't notice bad writing cuz I listen to an audiobook but this time everytime she was like "she didn't say it rudely just inquisitively" it was so annoying I felt like there had to be a better way to world it. Also the voice the narrator did for Lettle sounded like a man trying to do a girl voice and I think it contributed in my dislike for Lettle. Also where was the tension between any of these characters I felt nothing for any of the romantic relationships and I'll literally ship someone if they graze hands with each other. But the author finished a book and that's more than I could do so 3 stars

Wanted to love this but it felt slightly juvenile compared to a lot of romantasy I’ve read. Loved the idea of the world setup and magic system, and had the bones to be amazing. Just could see the plot twists and mysteries coming from a mile off and knew what would inevitably happen come the end of the book. I’ll still read the rest of the series: it was a nice read, it just didn’t challenge me.

Es un libro que va de menos a más, con capítulos cortos que hacen que el ritmo de lectura sea muy ágil y una trama que se va poniendo más interesante hasta dejarte con la miel en los labios en el epílogo y con ganas de más.
Me ha gustado mucho, he disfrutado más los puntos de vista de Lettle que los de Yeeran porque me ha gustado más su personaje, pero sin duda me parece una historia muy recomendable.
Estoy deseando leer el segundo
