I really enjoyed this book! I thought the lore was really interesting and honestly very well developed. It felt fresh and new, even though the creatures themselves obviously aren’t new in the supernatural genre. The love triangle was also actually very funny, i thought it would grate on me but for now it’s just entertaining. I’m hoping she’ll eventually connect with some women though, it was a very man heavy book, though Jessie made up for it, and the reasoning behind why she doesn’t really have any female friends (because of her work and whatnot) made a reasonable amount of sense. But we’ll see how the story progresses. I also liked that the MC has a sense of experience and maturity about her, she’s not fumbling around scared and clumsy like some idiot, nor is she completely devoid of any fear. She’s terrified when in dangerous situations and having to do dangerous things, but she does it anyway, and I really like that.
