This was a quick read. I almost felt like it wanted to be a romance novel, while still holding to the modern fantasy genre. There was not much in the way of romance, though. The plot and characters were interesting enough. I am interested in reading the second book.
The visuals made the story even more fun to read.

This is a reread for me. I absolutely love the world and dynamic between Mercy and her community. With a smidge of slow burn romance and a love triangle- it’s just right. 1 🌶️

I devoured this book. I found this author through my love of Ilona Andrews books who are one of my top favorite authors. I can easily say Patricia Briggs is going to become equally as much of a favorite. I’m so excited to know I have a whole series to enjoy. I absolutely loved it!
It was so bad. The writing had a lot of incorrect grammar, and sometimes it was even hard to understand what the author was trying to say. I don't get how this book got rated over 4 stars. The characters were so one dimensional and so plain. I was in a mood for a werewolf book, so I could've finished this book, but I just could not ignore the writing.

This was a fun quick read. While some classify this as paranormal romance, the romantic element takes a back seat to the action and story. This is well written with a direct plot. The characters have depth and feel realistic. I always like to see a nice strong female protagonist, and Mercy Thompson is this without being unreasonably unhuman. The world is well developed and includes an interesting take on the werewolf mythos.
