So much better than I expected. I love a good fake dating to real dating troupe. It was mostly lighthearted but still real. And there’s a little

rookie hockey/ballerina, he’s celibate, forced proximity, fake dating

Not a bad story, but it was oddly long for no reason (eg, Sage’s Swan Lake fiasco, Elias’s dad popping up out of nowhere)—I liked the story, very typical hockey romance, but not a top fave.

spiral was so so good and a genuine surprise after collide. everything about this book was a massive improvement and i absolutely adored the characters and the way eli and safe developed their relationship !

eli and sage’s relationship felt so natural and easy to read about .. they were funny, raw and made this book so easy and enjoyable to read.

the plot was well paced and i felt like their relationship was really well paced too. the plot was engaging and had other elements aside from the relationship which is always a plus for me!

overall, it was such an easy read that brought me so much joy .. i am so excited to see what else Bal Khabra comes out with because i know it will only improve!

thank you to netgalley for giving me an arc of this book in exchange for a review !

I really wanted to like it but I became more picky with what I read as I get older. Just from the beginning I feel like it could be a wattpad book, well written for a wattpad book but not good enough to be something else. The summary sounds like any hockey book, I think I’m just out of that phase. Sorry to the author who spent a lot of time on it but it’s just not my vibe anymore.

I liked that this book had more depth than the first one did and had a more emotional impact. It was nice seeing both Elias and Sage hide behind the wall they both built to protect their hearts and to let it down slowly for each other. Just like Sage, I was also shocked when Elias confessed that he was celibate and even more annoyed when he explained why. Yeah it was a shitty thing that should not have happened to him but that making him want to be celibate is kind of crazy in my opinion. The only good thing about it is that he told Sage earlier on in the book to explain why he shouldn't go further with her which I think helped her character development because she didn't want to over step her boundaries. And to think of it, I like that he held strong on his boundaries and she accepted them. (That is until near the end of the book when they finally confessed their love for each other.) I think the whole thing with the GM threatening to trade him because he isn't scoring was pretty stupid. I understand wanting to see goals, but the fact that Elias's game had changed other wise and he was still playing great, idk why you would want to trade him so badly. And why the GM hated him so much from the beginning for no reason other than the lies the media was saying. I liked the addition of Sage's brother and think that story line made a lot of sense for her character development.
