I liked it a lot. Fake dating to real dating, who wouldn't, amiright?! But those last 5ish chapters draaaaaaaaaaagged on and I just wanted it over by then. Everything felt totally wrapped up but of course it wasn't. It was just that it felt like the main plot of the book was getting Eli through the playoffs but of course Sage had her own troubles and drama to sort out. It might have worked better if it was a bit more simultaneously done but it is what it is. And I still loved it.
I did seriously love the entire cast of characters. My favourites are always the best friends because they get to have the lines that force the MCs to really look at themselves and sort themselves out. And they're usually funny as hell. It's great.

Eli Westbrook.. you are definitely on my top list of fictional bfs (˵˘ ³˘˵) He is the epitome of a man written by a woman, because the things he was saying and doing really got me (the birthday surprise for Sage.. just wow).
Ahhh I really loved the first half of this book, but I can’t lie the second half really started to get on my nerves. I surprisingly enjoyed the premise of fake dating and I think it was done well, until about the 60% mark where a lot of mixed signals and confusion started taking place. Even as a reader, I felt like I was getting mixed signals from both leads (which ultimately lead to some of my frustration). I wasn’t particularly a fan of how fast their relationship was going – I had to remind myself on multiple occasions that they were fake dating until towards the end when they finally established their relationship. I also felt like having her ex make a reappearance was added as an afterthought and I was lowkey expecting to see more of jealous Eli (sigh).
However, I will say that I’m glad it started and ended strong. I especially enjoyed the epilogue a lot and I just love seeing everyone happy(!!!) There were definitely a lot of moments where I was kicking feet, like they were just such cutiepies. This would have been a favourite of this year if it wasn’t for reasons I mentioned earlier 🥲

Setting aside the subpar writing and plot jumps, this was actually pretty cute and even some may say hot. As an eldest sister with the weight of the world on her shoulders, I can confirm that it is in fact hot to have the right person take charge

What can I say about Sage and Eli? They're so cute, I love Sage's provocative personality and Eli's calm one, together they make an incredible couple.
And Eli's secret???? In fact, THE TWO SECRETS, when I discovered them my jaw dropped.
I can't wait for the next book!!!
